As we get that ‘back to school feeling’, here at Suffolk Dog Day Headquarters we felt the need to bring back our blog. There hasn’t been a day gone by this summer where we haven’t thought and chatted about the fun that was had by all back at the end of July, up in the grounds of Helmingham Hall! If you were there with your furry friend, we very much hope you enjoyed it as much as we did… from the Breed Parades where you all joined in – never did we expect to have nearly 80 Cockapoos parading their stuff in the main ring! And our winning breed the Greyhound – how graceful they all were and so many incredible stories of how many had been rescued and rehomed by you all!
And our winner, Super the Samoyed with her owner Tammie McNeill – what a worthy ‘Jewel In the Crown’ she was! So beautiful, winning the hearts of all the professional and sponsor judges alike!
But one of the most important elements to the day – just by being there, your help has enabled us to raise over £60,000 for the work of the Suffolk Community Foundation which, as some of you may know, is a grant giving body which supports Suffolk charities and voluntary organisations. Importantly, all the money we raise stays in the County and is directed towards areas of real need within our community. So by attending this event, you really are helping people in need across our much loved area. So thank you….!!
Plans are already a-go for our 2018 event – put in your diaries, Sunday 29th July 2018! There will be lots of excitement to get involved with in the run up – we’ll keep you in the doggy loop, we promise!
